Definition of Human Computer Interaction
Human–computer interaction (HCI) researches the design and use of computer technology, focusing particularly on the interfaces between people (users) and computers. Researchers in the field of HCI both observe the ways in which humans interact with computers and design technologies that let humans interact with computers in novel ways. HCI is about how people interact with computers and to what extent computers are or are not developed for successful interaction with human beings. A significant number of major corporations and academic institutions now study HCI.
Difference Between User Interface and Human Computer Interaction
User Interface – Interaction between user and computer.
Human Computer Interaction – Designed the computer to react with user its involved in the interaction between user and computer.
Importance of Human Computer Interaction
The methods of user-centered design are quite different from those for the rest of computer engineering. Hence, it is important to have someone with HCI focused skills involved in all phases of any product of system development. HCI will be fundamental to making products more successful, safe, useful, functional and, in the long run, more pleasurable for the user.
